一文目は常識なのでわかりますが、２文目の「ドイツ人の考案だとされる」は初耳です。周りの英米人のだれもが知りません。これは（１）本当でしょうか？（２）出典が知りたいです。</description>

(1) の文を間違いだ、the が必要だとお考えのかたはいらっしゃいますか？私は（１）もありだと思います。それはともかく、（１）と（２）の違いが知りたいです。of... によって名詞が限定されるので the が必要だ、と教えている先生が多いのではと推測します。それはともかく、（１）と（２）の相違を考えましょう。（２）の the は前方照応の the なのでしょうか？あるいは、of以下で限定されるので、必然的に「話題の限定、特定」の条件が付与されるのでしょうか？
要は、of 以下の要素が the の出現に影響を与えるか否かをお聞きしています。よろしくお願いします。</description>
